The mini$-$project should cover the following points. Remember to present your considerations and support your statements using figures, plots, and, tables whenever applicable.

$-$ Failure analysis

$1.$ Construct a qualitative FTA of the quarter car suspension

$-$ Fault Detection and Diagnosis

$2.$ The shock absorber suddenly starts to leak, which instantly leads to a reduction $\backslash (50\backslash \%\backslash )$ damping $\backslash ($ b$\_\{$d$\}\backslash ).$ Assume full state feedback and that the fault suddenly occurs half way down the ISO road.

$-$ Design an observer which generates the estimate $\backslash (\backslash$hat$\{$b$\}\_\{$d$\}\backslash )$ and show that it detects the fault

$3.$ The tire suffers from a leak which results in a faulty tire and a $\backslash (50\backslash \%\backslash )$ reduction of the tire spring constant $\backslash ($ k$\_\{$t$\}\backslash ).$

$-$ Design a bank of observers to distinguish between a system with a normal tire and a faulty tire. In this case, only a noisy wheel position measurement $\backslash ($ y$=$x$\_\{$w$\}+$n $\backslash )$ is available. Show that the residual can be used to distinguish between the two situations.
