Project Description

Implementation of the Moodle educational platform in a publicly funded college. The selected college currently does not have an online component to their platform and this will help them with the strain of operating caused by the ongoing pandemic. Moodle will provide the college with a comprehensive system that provided them the opportunity to provide classes in an online or hybrid model to best benefit all involved participants. With the return of in person teaching there is still the opportunity for the college to provide teaching materials to students in the hybrid model as it is popular.

Functional requirements for Moodle

1. Moodle platform must be adaptable to different learning methodologies

Specifics:

a. must support single sign on with the college authentication method

b. Must allow for assign roles( setting roles, such as student, instructor, teaching assistant and so on.

2. Must enable rich assessment

Environment must support a broad range of assessment and surveying tools

Specifics:

a. All standard question types in test

b. integration with assignment, assessment tools and third-party tools

c. Integration with the college grade submission process

3. Must enable asynchronous collaboration and communication

User must be able to work together regardless of the time zone differences

Specifics:

a. outgoing emails to entire class or specific individuals or groups

b. threaded forum discussion board.

• The platform must be highly available and able to withstand large amounts of traffic.
