Project Description Your assignment is to find connections between 1984 and the world we live in today. Hopefully, as you read, your brain will \"ping\" on certain concepts that Orwell describes and you will find yourself thinking, \"Thatis similar to that we have today...\" Step 1: Choose your FIVE concepts. These are the more obvious ones: thought police, two minutes hate, telescreen, speakwrite, newspeak, Junior Anti Sex League, Hate Week, doublethink, \"The Book,\" Big Brother. You may choose other ones, but be sure that you understand them. Step 2: Collect artifacts -- articles, videos, photographs FROM THE PAST TWELVE MONTHS that seem to represent or connect strongly to these concepts. You need at least three artifacts for each concept {they can be on related topics.) Step 3: Organize them into your slideshow. Provide high-quality descriptions on each slide that connect the artifacts with the 1984 concept. Step 4: Tu rn your project in by MAY 12.
