This project aims to equip you with a critical understanding of ethical issues in information systems. You will explore fundamental ethical principles, analyze real$-$world case studies, and apply ethical frameworks to decision$-$making scenarios within the profession.

Project Components:

$1.$ Case Study Analysis $(40\%)$

As per the following case study, answer the questions:

Case: A social media platform faces a dilemma: allowing free speech can lead to the spread of misinformation and hate speech, but implementing stricter regulations could stifle legitimate user expression.

Tasks:

$$ Briefly summarize the case study.

$$ Identify the key ethical issues involved.

$2.$ Apply Ethical Frameworks $(20\%)$

Analyze the case study using at least two ethical frameworks or principles. Explain how each framework applies to the situation and what insights it provides. Consider frameworks such as:

$$ Virtue Ethics

$$ Justice Theory

$$ Privacy principles

Feel free to use any other frameworks.

From the perspective of an IT professional involved in the case, propose a solution or course of action that addresses the ethical concerns. Consider factors such as:

$4.$ Anonymity, Privacy, and Security $(10\%)$

Analyze the implications of anonymity, privacy, and security in the context of your case study. Discuss how these factors impact the ethical considerations and your proposed solution.

$5.$ Presentation $(20\%)$

Prepare a presentation summarizing your research and analysis. This should be a written $.$doc report. Ensure your presentation is:

$$ Presents a well$-$reasoned and justifiable solution
