Project for PROJ1002 Earned Value Management is designed to allow the students to apply tools and techniques that are discussed in class to develop (EVM) Earned Value Management System-based Project. The students are asked to prepare a EVM system to control activities and measure performance using EVM. on a scope that includes at least 30 activities. The contents of each document are explained in the following paragraphs. Each group must submit their project based on the evaluation timetable deadline. Project report should include cover sheet with group team members. Consider the required project management skills, tools and techniques when working in a group and try to make an effective project team. Every student, working within their group, must submit on Moodle a peer evaluation, based on a range of zero to ten, evaluating contributions of their teammates. Students must submit peer evaluations individually. Students will receive a mark deduction should they fail to submit peer evaluation. EVM Project consists of the following main deliverables as described below: 1) define the Project Scope (SOW) 2) use a work breakdown structure (WBS) to define the work. 3) establish organizational responsibility for work accomplishment in an organization breakdown structure (OBS) 4) ensure management subsystems support each other, the WBS and the OBS. 5) distribute the budget into the WBS 6) schedule all authorized work using a logic-based method (e.g., CMP) 7) spread the budget over time consistent with the schedule for the work 8) baseline the plan 9) record/estimate direct and indirect costs 10) collect/estimate and analyise performance data at the control account level on a periodic basis (3 different times during the project) 11) produce forecasts for remaining work 12) Incorporate an authorized change and show the effect on EVM metrics. 13) Earned Value Graph 14) Project report and video-presentation Each of the above deliverables shall be done using different teams composition. Each team composition shall have a teammate acting as a project manager and another as a minutes-of-meeting taker while the rest of the team shall have different roles based on the tasks required to complete each of the deliverables. Teammates shall rotate role and no student shall take the same role twice. Project managers must exercise leadership by providing vision and help to all other teammates. Presentations shall be coordinated by each group representative/leader (based on the emails that were sent to the instructor) and the presentations shall be deliverable based. Group leaders shall provide overall coordination and transition between deliverables by introducing respective teams and a brief about the deliverable being presented, using team photos, each associated with their role. Presentations shall be done, off class and video-recorded and then played in class. Teams shall present their deliverables and inform viewers about decisions and team deliberations while working on the deliverables. Teammates shall refer to the minutes-of-meetings taker who will be the go-to person for that part of the presentation. Each deliverable shall meet the following criteria: - Team formation Description and showcasing the deliverable What different opinions/suggestions/ideas that were discussed How the team reached consensus on the content of the deliverable What are the items that the team wanted to include but couldnt? explain the reason why they were not included and what would be the significance of including them, had the opportunity allowed otherwise.
