Project Guidelines for SAD2(System Analysis and Design 2)
1 Introduction
Must contain brief description of Information System on which analysis has been made ( e.g. the
IS submitted in proposal). You can follow the SAD1 contents to discuss the current system e.g.
the problem it is addressing, scope, functional requirements etc.
1.1 Problem definition
Develop a complete problem definition including the problem statement, issues, objectives, non-functional requirements, scope, and constraints.
1.2 Major roles in the system
List and briefly describe the major staff roles in the proposed system.
1.3 Functional requirements
Develop a detailed specification of functional requirements and link it with the major roles in the system.
1.4 system analysis (dfd)
2 System Design
2.1 Output design
Provide the details of output design. This section should include major outputs provided by the
system. For each output, you need to provide (1) which specific functional requirements they
correspond to (from 1.2 above),(2) its design (form, report etc.), and (3) a brief description.
2.2 Input design
Provide the details of input design. This section should include major inputs needed by the system.
For each input, you need to provide (1) which specific functional requirements they correspond to
(from 1.2 above),(2) its form design, and (3) a brief description.
2.3 Database design
2.3.1 Entity relation diagrams
2.3.2 Un-normalized view of the database.
This view should provide the details of tables corresponding to functional requirements, and input/
output designs.
2.3.3 Details of normalization
Tables in 1NF,2NF, and 3NF.
2.3.4 Tables description
Description of each of the tables identified above, along with the details of keys and any assumptions
made.
