Project Management Assignment:

The project is based upon installing/using technology in a consumer retail environment installing iPads as menu taking and point-of-sale (POS) devices at the customers table. It is to be assumed that there is no current digital ordering system in place at the restaurant.

The Darden restaurant digital communications ordering system should be able to...

1) be easily held and transported by waiters/waitresses;

2) display the full menu;

3) allow for order taking, with custom cooking options;

4) easily communicate with the kitchen;

5) sell restaurant merchandise;

6) act as a Point-of-Sale device for taking payments.

8) write all sales and inventory data into a central system for further analysis, accounting tabulation, and company reporting.

The student will base their project upon the following company:

Darden restaurants. The Darden family has eight different companys they manage. Choose a company and use nine of its domestic and international restaurants. The student will focus on their one company and use the company strategy and culture throughout the basis of the entire project. The student should actually use one of the eight Darden restaurants by name, as the company they work for and are managing the project for the student is a Darden Restaurant Project Manager.
