Project Management, in general, and project managers, in particular, play fundamental roles in supply chain management. Outsourcing strategy is a common practice for project procurement and supply chain management. However, considering the global disruptions manifested in digital transformation and the recent COVID-19 pandemic, organizations have been pushed to rethink their procurement and supply chain strategies to move toward more resilient, transparent, and agile supply chain management. This is a topic of interest to practitioners and researchers alike. In a current call for papers in one of the peer-reviewed journals (Journal of Operations Management Research: Advancing Practice through Theory), the Journal invites studies to discuss the "Role of Project Management for More Resilient Supply Chains: Lessons Learned from COVID-19 Outbreak." https://www.springer.com/journal/12063/updates/18428398(Links to an external site.) ).
