Project Phase $1$:

This assignment will assess your skills and knowledge to apply problem solving methods.

Per the week $3$ grading rubric, located in the BUS $5910$ Course Guide for Final Paper and Presentation, this week$$s assignment should include:

$$ Background of the organization, why this problem was chosen, and the problem should be based on a real problem you have faced in an organization that you currently work for or have worked for in the past.

$$ The problem statement includes three of the common organizational issues: Improving productivity, responsiveness $($the ability to act quickly and in a timely manner to something$),$ quality, customer$/$client satisfaction, employee engagement, adaptability, or change management.

$$ The problem statement and subsequent analysis should also incorporate at least $2$ of the following, from the MBA program: Organizational Theory, Human Resources, Project$/$Program Management, Finance$/$Accounting$,$ Operations Management, or Globalization.

$$ Problem statement follows the recommended template for writing a problem statement as outlined in week $1($what$,$ where, when, why, how much, and who$),$ and student has approval from instructor.

$$ The root cause section should provide analysis that determines the root cause of the company$/$enterprise$$s problem.

$$ The root cause section should relate back to all elements of the problem statement and have a logical flow.

o The root cause section should explain:

$$ Potential root causes for the overall issue being discussed,

$$ How the root causes are related to $3$ of the organizational issues

$$ How the root causes relate to $2$ of the following $($also should be in your problem statement$)$: $($Organizational Theory, Human Resources, Project$/$Program Management, Finance$/$Accounting$,$ Operations Management, Globalization$).$

$$ Should also include discussion of how the root causes were determined, including details about the tools and the process used.

$$ Root causes section should be related to the problem statement and should be connected to all elements of the problem statement with a logic flow.

$$ Any previous feedback from the instructor should be applied to this assignment.

$$ In addition, this week, you will also add the required leadership section. A separate section of the paper for this week's submission should discuss:

o An analysis of the leadership$/$management role, and whether it was effective and what opportunities or not $($and why, with research on leadership to support$).$

o Discuss in depth what actions the leaders or managers took to address the problem. Were these actions successful? Why or why not? And what could have been done better from a leadership perspective?

$$ This section should be at least $3$ paragraphs $($if not more$)$ and address the effectiveness of the leaders$$ approach to the problem.

$$ Research, including any applicable organizational theory should also be included when discussing what was effective for the leader$($s$)$ and what was not effective.

o The CEO of the company can be described, or multiple leaders$/$levels of management can be discussed, or both.
