Abstract

Descriptive Abstracts:

A descriptive abstract is an extremely brief description of the contents of a report. Its purpose is to tell the reader what to expect from the full paper.

A descriptive abstract tells the reader what the report contains but doesn't go into detail.

It briefly summarizes the purpose and experimental method, but not the results or conclusions. Basically, say why and how the study was made, but don't go into findings.

The objective of your science experiment is the reason for which you're completing the experiment. Therefore, the objective portion of your lab report should let your reader know the purpose of performing your experiment. For instance, if you're trying to prove the importance of using fertilizer on plants, the purpose of your experiment would be the effects of fertilizer on plants. When your readers have read through your objective, they'll know that the rest of your report will cover these effects.

Conclusion

Instructions on Writing a Conclusion for a Project

$1.$ Beginning with the conclusion of a project, you have to enclose the results of your experiments$/$output$/$findings in one or two sentences. This does not mean that the sentences have to involve the statistical data, but it should have to demonstrate results $($and possibly the difficulty$/$ease of achieving results$)$ of your project. You can also rationalize your results by giving logical examples.

$2.$ Give a brief review of your hypothesis $$that you have created in the beginning of your experiment. Remember, the project you conduct should be designed in a way that it allows you to see whether the results of your experiment support the hypothesis or not.

$3.$ It is also important to identify any issue in conclusion section that you encountered in your experiment. Briefly discuss the issue or issues and try to enclose the ways you can adopt to fix them in future.

$4.$ Write some more queries you can use in future studies regarding the same topic. These questions might include entirely a different question on a similar topic or any other dependent or independent variable to investigate or other experiments to try on the same topic.
