Project Task

You and your group team members $($if applicable$)$ are required to brainstorm in order to identify a

list of minimum five $(5)$ significant quality problems occurring in the Kulliyyah of Engineering

$($KOE$)$ from various aspects. The existence of these non$-$quality occurrences prevents KOE from

becoming a global center of innovative engineering education and research with values and

professional ethics. Using PDCA or DMAIC quality improvement methodology, initiate a quality

improvement project on your group$$s selected topic$/$theme$.$

Some of the general key points in the course project as stipulated in PDCA or DMAIC quality

improvement steps include:

a$.$ Acknowledgement of the existence of non$-$quality attributes KOE.

b$.$ Using of appropriate quality tool$($s$)$ to select one topic$/$theme for the quality improvement

project.

c$.$ Defining the problem or quality issue selected.

d$.$ Measuring the current process capability relevant to the selected problem or issue and setting

appropriate target or goal.

e$.$ Valid and reliable probability and statistical data collection with evidence or assurance of data

collected or belonging to the group members.

f$.$ Identification of probable cause$($s$)$ behind the non$-$quality issue using relevant quality tool$($s$)$

and determining of root cause$($s$).$

g$.$ Development of possible solution$($s$)$ to the selected non$-$quality issue.

h$.$ Discussing possible outcomes of the best solution $($if implemented$)$

i$.$ Use of appropriate tools to sustain the gain$($s$)$ achieved.

j$.$ Evidences of data collected and activities carried out by the groups.

Note: You must use all the concepts and tools learned in this course where appropriate in coming

up with an interesting final report.
