PROJECT TASK

You work for a company called SAP, an international software development company, as a project manager. Due to the high

budget levels, running into millions of Rands associated with projects undertaken a project manager at SAP is under

constant pressure to deliver. Any failure could result in dismissal of the project manager. You have been asked to take over

an existing software development project worth R$20$m$.$ The appointed project manager was dismissed due to the project

running over budget and behind schedule. This non$-$performance will result in SAP paying penalties on the project. Your

director has faith in you that you will be able to turn around the project.

General requirements

Marks in the project assessment are primarily awarded for the application of the relevant theory to the requirements of the

assessment. Merely reproducing theory is deemed inadequate. The ability to undertake and reflect on research is a key

component to the assessment. The assessment will be assessed in accordance with general criteria.
