Project:
The Term Project is a full consulting report on a service operation in HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM, including recommendations.
The overall objective of this project is to give the student an opportunity to apply the concepts learned in class to a real-life situation.
General Guidelines for the Project:
1. You will be expected to study a service organization (preferably a hotel, restaurant, tourism venue, or airline company). We will refer to the organization you select as your "client."
2. Since you will be collecting data, all information should be held confidential; you are to maintain full confidentiality regarding anything you learn about your client's business. Due to Covid-19 outbreak, collecting face-to-face data might not be possible. Hence, data collection through online methods and phone interviews are also possible.
3. You can select a relatively small organization to work with, or perhaps a smaller segment of a larger organization. For example, if you chose the Golden Tulip Hotel (Nicosia), you might only pick the frontline staff to study rather than the whole hotel. However, if you study a hotel the size of a Hilton or Holiday Inn, you may probably investigate the entire hotel.
4. Using the service quality presentations reviewed in class, and your review of the literature, you will be familiar with good service management and service quality methods, so you have an adequate theoretical framework upon which you base your study.
5. Throughout the semester, you are learning the concepts of a good/quality service management system and what to look for when diagnosing the system. You will want to utilize these concepts in your report.
