This assignment is intended to permit each student to identify the topic they wish to pursue for the Term Project, explain why they selected it, articulate a plan of action and schedule for completing the required work, and ask questions of the instructor if needed. Please use this opportunity to clarify/address any questions they may have and/or seek focused guidance on their project ideas.

Term Project Assignment Overview Assignment Purpose and Description The purpose of the Term Project is to provide you an opportunity to demonstrate your ability to create a baseline plan for a project that furthers the strategic needs of an organization and develop key project planning deliverables, including a project charter and a detailed plan. This is a role-playing exercise where you will assume the role of a project manager for an organization of your choosing. You will identify a need that is aligned with the strateg goals of the organization and develop a realistic project plan to meet that need. You will develop a series of deliverables starting with a basic project charter, then a progressively detailed project plan, and risk assessment. Working Independently All students will perform the term project assignments on their own. Typically, students are encouraged to work on their term projects in teams; however, group work in this cou is being suspended this term. Although I recognize that students can safely work remotely with one another through online collaboration tools, such as Office 365 , WebEx, etc., have decided to suspend group activities to help reduce the potential cascading impacts on other team members resulting from disruptions to one ore more project team partners. Assignment Deliverables This assignment is broken into four deliverables that will be due in phases according to the updated Instructions for each of the four deliverables are published within their respective assignment dropboxes. Please read them carefully, and follow-up with Mr. Hughes if you have any questions. Requests for Pre-Submission Feedback You are encouraged (but not required) to email a rough draft to the instructor no less than a week before the assignment due date for feedback on your progress. Alternatively, yo may request to a live online meeting to discuss any questions or concerns you may have prior to submitting your work. Associated LSCS Student Learning Outcomes (SLO): The Term Project is directly associated with the following required student learning outcomes for BMGT 1309: - SLO 1 - Demonstrate means to coordinate change across a project. - SLO 2 - Demonstrate professional attitude and time management. - SLO 3 - Demonstrate project plan development and execution schemes. - SLO 4 - Develop project management processes including: determining tasks at all levels, employing effective time management, generating and maintaining status repor developing a budget proposal, identifying and evaluating project risks, scheduling tasks and deadlines, seeing project through to completion, supervising projects. - SLO 5 -Identify interactivity dependencies that must occur during the process stages. - SLO 6 -Identify methods for determining, categorizing, and controlling costs. - SLO 7 -Identify, sequence, and estimate the duration of specific activities that must be performed to accomplish project goals
