Project/Problem-based learning LEARNING OBJECTIVES At the end of this project, student should be able to: 1) Evaluate and articulate the concepts of ordinary differential equations 2) Classify the differential equation(s), and justify those classifications, and solve those analytically 3) Apply the first order/high order ordinary differential equation concepts to create appropriate model from real and scientific applications INSTRUCTION TO STUDENTS Following a number of lectures, students were assigned to a group of two/three to work on PBL project. Students are encouraged to form multidisciplinary teams. Students will be asked to formulate, define, and interpret a mathematical modeling (particularly ordinary differential equation) which involves real engineering applications. (e.g. Newton's law cooling/warming, radioactive decay, spring-mass system, deflection of the beam, etc.). The relationship between the variables needs to be elucidated systematically. The selected model should be solved analytically using any methods that have been learnt in the previous lectures. At the end of three weeks, each group will submit a 6-15 minutes recorded video using any visual platform (Screencast o Matic, Loom, Free Cam, etc) explaining the model. The project is worth 20% of the students' final grades for this course. 8-10 Outstanding Clear and complete understanding of design goal and constraints Impair solution RUBRIC FOR PBL PROJECT STUDENT'S NAME : 1) 2) MATRIC NO GROUP EVALUATOR : DR MOHD SAIFUL RIZA AND DR MAZIATI AKMAL Criteria 0-54 4-
