Proportion and Standard Deviation

1)Following are the grades achieved by men and women students. Test at the 0.02 level of significance whether it is reasonable to assume that the two population standard dev are equal.

Men students: 79,88,64,91,83,66,89,74Women students: 70,51,82,72,90,61

2)Meralco knows that during the summer months, monthly electric bills of a family of five has a relatively constant standard deviation of P50. However due to erratic changes in climate, the electric company believes that electric bills are varying widely. A random sample of 30 families of five yielded a mean electric bill amounting to P870 with a standard deviation of P65. Using 1% level of significance can the electric company conclude that the standard deviation today is different from that in the past years?
