It's important to know that not everyone that might be using data from a data set is an expert in the field or familiar with topic and these aids can help explain data in simpler terms. Likewise, a massive data set can be more difficult to make determinations from without the help of a visual aid because it can also act like a summation. Interpretation becomes easier with data visualization, but also makes it easier to identify outliers as well as any patterns or trends (Hashemi-Pour, 2024). These methods help paint a picture or tell a story so to speak to someone that needs to make a decision based on a set of data. A situation where data visualization has helped changed a decision being made is when I worked for a previous employer, we often would run variables through a genetic optimizer until the optimal results were achieved. This is a way of testing changes in multiple variables at the same time. However, sometimes a particular set of variables may cause an equation to have the most profitable outcome but could be more sensitive to changes.
