As the Senior Manager of Pseudo Enterprise, you have been authorized to conduct the project appraisal for five new projects and submit a recommendation to management on how best to spend £330,000 for new projects.

The cash flows are confined to the lifetime of each project. Apart from initial investments that occur at the beginning of the project, all cash flows occur at year-end. The following information on the projects is available:

 The cost of capital is 10%,

• Assume no taxes,
• Projects are independent and divisible.

 Answer the following:

1. Calculate the NPV for each proposed project. If the company was able to undertake all positive NPV projects, what level of NPV could be achieved?

2. Calculate the profitability index for each of the five projects

 Excellence Food Processing is evaluating its cash management over the last accounting year. On average, the firm holds inventory for 54 days, collects its receivables in 18 days, and pays its suppliers in 27 days. The firm has a current annual outlay of £2,548,000 on operating cycle investments. Excellence Food Processing currently pays 13 percent for its negotiated financing (Assume a 365-day year).

1. Calculate the firm's cash conversion cycle.

2. Calculate the firm's operating cycle

3. Calculate the daily expenditure and the firm's annual savings if the operating cycle is reduced by 18 days.
