Purpose

In this assignment, you will apply concepts from the Source unit (Introduction to Supply Chain Management & Supplier Selection) along with knowledge learned about Excel in the LinkedIn Learning Excel assignment.

Scenario

Its another late night finishing up work for that crazy SCM 301 instructor. Your plan is to order a pizza and knock out the studying and assignments. The only problem is Ames has sooooo many great pizza places to choose from that you always have a tough time deciding where to get your ZA. Thats okay! You remember the weighted supplier scorecard description from SCM 301 and decide to make one for Ames pizza places.

Tasks

• Create a multi-criteria analysis for Blaze, Dominos, Jeffs Pizza, and Pizza Pit (needs to be completed in Excel).
  • Use a scale of 0-100 for the score each pizza place can earn under each criterion.
  • The score for each criterion per pizza place is based on your opinion.
  • However, remember the criterion weights should be the same for each supplier.
    • Having the same criterion weights helps align the importance of criterion to you while also creating a more "apples to apples" criterion between suppliers (in this case, pizza providers).
  • For the purposes of this assignment, each pizza provider needs to earn a total score of 70 or higher.
    • This will prevent people from rating one provider much higher than all the others making the answers to the below questions too easy.
  • Please note the scorecard, needs to display the formulas used to calculate the score for each pizza provider and category.
• Use the following criteria to generate a supplier scorecard:
  • Price
  • Quality
  • Availability of Toppings
  • Hours (open)
  • Delivery Availability.
• Answer the following questions by typing the question and answer beneath your multi-criteria analysis in Excel.
  1. Based on criterion weighting, what is the most important criterion to you when ordering pizza?
  2. What weighted score did Blaze earn for the price category?
  3. What weighted score did Dominos earn for the delivery category?
  4. What weighted score did Jeffs earn for the availability of toppings category?
  5. What weighted score did Pizza Pit earn for the hours category?
  6. Based on total supplier score, from which pizza provider should you order?
  7. Would you expect each classmate to share the same best supplier of pizza? Why not?
  8. Would you expect each classmate to have the same most important criterion? Why not?
• Remember you should provide a weight to each criteria and these weights should add up to 1.0.
  • For the purpose of this assignment, all 5 criterion cannot have the same weight.
  • I am certain at least one of these criteria is more important to you than the others.
