Python code that can read in project-specific data from an Excel file and determine the projects internal rate of return (IRR). the code needs to illustrate the breakdown of major project revenues and expenses by category as a percentage of that projects future value in 2025. The illustration must also clearly indicate the total future value of the project in year 2025 as well as the IRR. The only user-defined parameter should be the directory that contains all project Excel files (note that this rule prohibits you from identifying individual Excel files. Only the directory may be defined).
There will be a total of 10 revenue and cost categories that a project may be composed of. The categories are: Sales, salvage, subsidy, redeemable, utility, labor, testing, marketing, materials and logistics. All revenues and expenses will fall in one of these ten categories. The project pay period and compound period will be identified at the top of the Excel sheet. Pay period and compound period may be designated as any of the following: years, quarters, months.
Here is two example projects.
| Pay Period | Years | |
| Compound Period | Years | |
| 0 | 0 | N/A |
| 1 | -5000 | Labor |
| 2 | -5000 | Labor |
| 3 | -5000 | Labor |
| 4 | -5000 | Labor |
| 5 | -5000 | Labor |
| 6 | -5000 | Labor |
| 7 | 9000 | Redeemable |
| 8 | -5000 | Labor |
| 9 | -5000 | Labor |
| 10 | 45000 | Salvage |
| Pay Period | Months | |
| Compound Period | Months | |
| 0 | -17.99 | Marketing |
| 1 | 7.99 | Sales |
| 2 | -3 | Utility |
| 3 | 7.99 | Sales |
| 4 | -3 | Utility |
| 5 | 7.99 | Sales |
| 6 | -3 | Utility |
| 7 | 7.99 | Sales |
| 8 | -3 | Utility |
| 9 | 7.99 | Sales |
| 10 | -3 | Utility |
| 11 | 7.99 | Sales |
