(Python) How do I read in a text file and save each LINE (including spaces) to a 2D list? Each LINE should be its own list within another list. For example, [[# #], [ ### ]]
What I have so far saves into one list with each character as a seperate element.
CODE:
orig_list = [] f = open(file_in, 'r') for line in f: for char in line: orig_list.append(char)
VALUE (The list is longer than this filled with similiar characters):
[' ', ' ', ' ', ' ', ' ', '#', '#', '#', '#', '#', '#', '#', ' ', ' ', ' ', ' ', ' ']
