Q1) A rigid tank is divided into two compartments by a thermally non-
conducting piston. Compartment A contains water at 1.5 bar, 120^(@)C
with 10 Liters of volume. Compartment B contains 0.008 kg of air with
volume of 5 Liters. Heat transfer takes place to the rigid tank and at
the final state the volume of compartment B becomes 4 Liters. It is known that the process for
air is polytropic with an exponent of 3.106. Assuming air is an ideal gas and using the variable
specific heat approach for air, calculate: (a) the work done for water and for air, (b) the heat
transfers for water and air.
Remind that piston in rigid tank can move and actually it moves to the right side so there is work done by water. Please dont use same answer that given before because it is wrong
