The food mixture is a viscous fluid which concentrates when heated and adheres or stick to the walls of the container vessel. (i) Recommend a suitable type heat exchanger for this application. (ii) Describe the recommended heat exchanger with a neat sketch. [2] (b) A parallel flow double pipe heat exchanger has hot and cold-water streams [7] running through it and has the following data: Calculate the following: (i) Outlet temperature of the cold fluid (T); (ii) Log Mean Temperature Difference (LMTD); [5] (iii) If the outer diameter of the pipe carrying cold fluid is 18mm determine length of the heat exchanger required.
