Research Objectives

The Government of Canada wants to find ways to reduce the impact that Carbon emissions are having on Canadians and Canadian climate.

TOPIC

To Indicate the optimal method(s) that Canadians can use to reduce their E-waste.

QUALITATIVE RESEARCH OBJECTIVES

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

To understand how GenZ and Millennials manage electronic waste and recommend optimal methods of waste collection for sustainable growth

SECONDARY OBJECTIVES

1. To investigate the overall awareness of effects caused by electronic waste among GenZ and Millennials.

2. To determine what disposable and waste handling methods are preferred by GenZ and Millennials.

3. To understand the consumer recycling behavior among GenZ and Millennials.

QUANTITATIVE OBJECTIVES

1. To measure what percentage of the target group prefers to collect e-waste at the convenience of their home instead of an E-waste recycling drop box.

2. To identify what are the most and least important preferred recycling options among GenZ and Millennials. 3. To quantify what percentage of the target group would pay a service fee for an E-waste home collection service.

4. To measure overall respondent's reaction to the importance of E-waste collection for reducing carbon emission in the environment.

HYPOTHESES

Hypothesis I.

Ho: There is no statistically significant relationship between preferred E-waste disposal method and recycling intention

Ha: There is statistically significant relationship between preferred E-waste disposal method and recycling intention

Hypothesis II.

Ho: There is no statistically significant relationship between people opting for the convenient E-waste collection method and acceptance of service fee.

Ha: There is a statistically significant relationship between people opting for the convenient E-waste collection method and acceptance of service fee.
