Before a purchase commitment is made to a supplier it may be necessary to test samples to see if they are adequate for the intended purpose.

Assignment Instructions

Think of a recent occasion when you purchased a tangible product, for example, clothing, luggage, electronics, or supplies, what you felt was high quality. Now, recall

another product that you evaluated as having appropriate or adequate quality, and a third that you felt had low or poor quality. next week all experiences involving

purchases of service. Examples might include an airline, a train ride or bus trip, a meal in a restaurant, a haircut, or an oil change for your car.

Task

Use the examples to do the following:

Assess the extent to which the quality you associated with each was a function of price or your expectations of quality

Could the quality of each be improved without affecting price? If so$,$ how?

Can high quality service offset moderate or even poor product quality? Can outstanding product quality offset only moderate or poor$-$quality services?
