When reflecting on the information from the South African Police Service Strategic Plan 2020
2025, it is clear that the publics trust in the policing/law enforcement service is a key factor in
measuring the organisations ability to deliver on its constitutional mandate. Top management

compiles the Strategic Plan, in consultation with the Executive, while middle and lower
management perform the operationalisation (implementation) of this plan.
You are required to submit a report to top management. In your report, you are required to
reflect on the Outcome and Performance. As a middle or lower manager, you are required to
utilise and manage available resources to achieve the Performance Indicator.
Your report should include the following and must include examples of applications relevant to
the Outcome and Performance Indicators in the extract:
Explanation of what strategic planning and system approach are.
