The next day, Goldfarb receives a summons in the mail from the Chicago Cubs with a complaint against him alleging the tort of Trespass to Land. Goldfarb defends the suit by claiming that he could not have committed trespass because the Cubs gave him permission to enter its land by selling him the ticket. In this case, Goldfarb is correct, he could not have committed trespass to land because he had permission from the owner to enter onto the land initially.
