QUESTION 1

  1. Angry Manager is having trouble figuring out the learning objectives. He has some general ideas, but is coming to you for help in getting specific. Please use what we learned in class (see class slides for examples) to help the manager develop these general learning outcomes into some more specific training objectives to use in our safety training for our employees.

In general, our machine operators need to develop some knowledge, skills, and attitudes about using basic safety equipment and tools. More specifically:

    • Trainees need to know the rules for when, where, and how to use basic safety tools like their reflective vests, a fire extinguisher, and hardhats.
    • They also need to know how to use basic items in a first-aid kit including bandages and a cold compresses or instant ice pack.
    • Last, we would like trainees to leave the training with a positive attitude towards using their safety checklist while on-the-job.

You have a great deal of leeway here, but you should write out 6 different training objectives using the resources included in the class lecture and slides to help you.

    • Each training objective should target only one of the underlined tools noted above.
    • Training objectives should show alignment with the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective outcomes that are noted as important above in bold.
    • You may make up any additional information needed such as describing where a tool is located or giving an example of when a tool should be used if you need to do so for your training objectives.
    • Remember the key to successful training outcomes is to be specific.
