a) What power is required to pump water at a rate of 0.10m3s from the lower to the upper reservoir?
b) Calculate the pressure at the pump inlet.
c) Calculate the pressure at the pump outlet.
d) Sketch the HGL and the EGL including the friction losses and minor losses.
Assume =1.0 at all locations and the pipe friction loss is given by ht-f(LD)(V22(g)), where L. is the length of pipe, D is the pipe diameter, f is the friction coefficient and V is the velocity in the pipe? Minor loss coefficients (k) are given as below.
