JOHOR BARU: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested an assistant officer from the Johor Islamic Religious Department (JAIJ) for requesting and receiving a bribe worth RM130,000.Johor MACC director Datuk Azmi Alias, in a statement Tuesday (June 16) said that investigations revealed that the suspect had asked and received bribes from a few contractors as a favor for getting supply works projects at the department.The 37-year-old woman, who was working as an assistant officer in the Islamic Affairs department, was arrested at about 3pm Tuesday at the MACC Johor office to help investigations.
