Table $1$ summarizes a series of Consolidated$-$Undrained $($CU$)$ triaxial shear strength tests that were

carried out on fully saturated identical clay specimens along with pore water pressure measurements

that were collected from consolidated clay. Determine the appropriate shear strength parameters using

an analytical method for assessing the long$-$term stability of the highway embankment. Justify the

suitability of the determined shear strength parameters for assessing the embankment stability.
