- Describe the operation of the converter and illustrate your
answer with diagrams of the main component voltage and current waveforms for continuous current mode operation.
(ii) A converter of the type shown in Figure 2(a) has the following parameters:
- Input voltage: 325 V
- Output voltage: 12 V
- Output current: 2 A
- Transformer primary turns: 16
- Transformer secondary turns: 1
The converter is designed so that the inductor ripple current is \(20\%\) of its average value.
Four different MOSFETs with the parameters given in Table 2 are available to use as the switch.
- Which MOSFET is best for this application? Give reasons for your
answer.
