The desired specification mean is 18 ounces at a tolerance of 0.5 ounces. Jane, the production manager, is presented with a new dispensing unit with a process capability index (Cpk) of 1.0. Analyse the process capability of the dispensing unit. Should she replace the current machine? (9 marks)
