Human resource (HR) management from a project lens is not for the faint-of-heart as we have discussed in class. Once the project scope is developed with a tool like a work breakdown structure, the tasks flowing out of that scope planning must be assigned to people in an effective way. We have explored many different types of HR issues in this course ranging from the difficulties of aligning functional and project management goals, working through organizational politics, assigning roles and responsibilities to people that are fair but also challenging (see Project Blue), planning communication messages and channels, and leading versus managing through different types of projects and work. Please answer each of the following scenarios from an HR and project management lens. Each scenario is worth 5 points for a total of 25 points for this question. Thank you!

Scenario 1 (5 points). Your team currently has 5-members, but top management wants you to add 4 more members to your team. From a team perspective, how many more communication channels would you to manage if top management had its way?

Scenario 2 (5 points). A functional manager suggests that a friend be assigned the role of "A" (i.e., Accountable) on a key task in your project. The problem is that you already have an "A" person in mind for this key task whose skill set fits better. What kinds of problems do you foresee if you have two people assigned the "A" role for this task?

Scenario 3 (5 points). What are three reasons to use a RACI (i.e., Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed) chart in planning and managing HR project management resources?

Scenario 4 (5 points). You are no stranger to conflict and conflict resolution. The SDI (i.e., Strength Deployment Inventory) model discusses what motivates you to behave in conflict. Conflict is at its highest in the "Storming" stage of team development. Please provide at least three reasons team conflict occurs in modern organizations.

Scenario 5 (5 points). Finally, what three project or team issues did you take-away from the Project Blue exercise done in class.
