Shah Alam was heavily flooded during a heavy downpour on 17 December 2021 and there were even several deaths due to the tragedy. Floodwaters had risen to almost the rooftop of single storey homes and with a lot of damage incurred to belongings and vehicles.

A week before the flood, which is on 10 December 2021, Barbara call Big Hall Event Management and booked one of their hall, located nearby Klang River for her wedding on 18 December 2021. She has paid RM7,000 of deposit for the venue booking and catering. However, due to the flood, the hall was flooded and her wedding was cancelled.

With reference to the law of contract, advise Barbara on whether she has any ground to sue the event manager and claim for damages. [20 marks]
