Samantha Joel was recently appointed as a judge of the Western Cape High Court. One of Samantha's first cases assigned to her was a Labour Law matter. While writing the judgment, Samantha asked one of her law clerks, Jimmy, to write her a legal memorandum explaining how the labour legislation has been reformed and transformed to give effect to the new constitutional dispensation and new Constitution. Judge Joel wants to use the research and information to form part of her introduction of her judgment.
