Figure $2$ shows an open$-$ended cylinder of soil. The flow into the cylinder is sufficient to maintain the water elevation at A $,$ and the tail water is constant at elevation E which is also the reference elevation. Determine the $($i$)$ pressure head, $($ii$)$ elevation head, and $($iii$)$ total head at points $B,C,D,$ and $F$ along the cylinder. Plot these values against elevation. As you can see in Figure $I=0$ at $C$ and $z=20$ at $A.$
