This is thought to be attributed to poor assert management, unsustainable design and construction approaches. In addition to this it is imperative to note that environmental sustainability achievement remains a subject of major concern globally. It also remains a primary objective for environmental scientists, environmental$/$civil engineers, and legislators to align towards sustainable development practices. As a ZIE student, write a brief report to the ZIE president highlighting key issues to be addressed under the Dam Engineering Department $($DED$)$ to ensure sustainable development. In your report include the following key terms; Environmental sustainability, Dam type selection and siting, sedimentation, Dam safety, Water Conservation and Demand Management, environmental impacts $($positive and negative$),$ water quality, hydropower generation, Research and Development and Assert Management.
