Raster and Vector Maps the differences between raster and vector maps. Using the ArcGIS Online service start a new map and add the following raster and vector layers:

USA Protected Areas (This is the Raster version)

USA Protected Areas - Manager (This is a Vector version)

You will have to zoom out to view the whole of the U.S. (inclusive of Alaska and Hawaii). Using what you have gathered from the text and other resources related to raster and vector maps:

1.Describe the differences between the two and their advantages and disadvantages.

2.Describe (in your own words) the main issues that need to be considered when you want to obtain raster and vector data.

3.Describe how the two layers could be used in a GIS analysis (hunting, fishing, building new homes and structures, etc). You may want to pay close attention to the darker green shaded areas within the raster file.
