Hi all,

Let's talk a bit about how motivation and factors that help motivate individuals differ among certain demographic groups. This is a good research article (see link below) that shows that pregnant women are more motivated than non-pregnant women to seek drug treatment. In addition, pregnant African American women were less likely to express motivation for drug treatment when compared to pregnant Caucasian women. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2714164/ Thoughts on these findings? In thinking about how these groups differed in terms of motivation, what factors do you think were the most influential?
