Favorable Job Attitudes make for Profitable Organizations Your friend Karen has recently been employed by Ravrod Company Limited as a Production Supervisor for one of its critical products, Ravrod Rum Cake. The rum cake has been Ravrods flagship product for many years but has recently experienced a decrease in demand. The reasons cited for this include inconsistency in quality and increased competition. One of the first things Karen observes, is the tardiness of the staff; consequently, she implemented an attendance monitoring mechanism, which required all staff to have their timecards stamped upon arrival. Most staff have been cooperative; however, Mark is very annoyed by the new procedure. He thinks Karen is micromanaging and as a consequence, he dislikes her. Karen in turn thinks that Mark cannot help but being lazy because he is from an inner-city area and she believes that all residents of the area are lazy. Mark has been late for three consecutive days without a plausible explanation. In discussion with Karen, Mark has told her that he is dissatisfied with his salary. His dissatisfaction is based on the fact that his friend Meredith who holds a similar position with a rival company, is better paid than he is, despite the fact that she has a lighter workload than he does.
