The business case that you prepared was accepted and BeyondTech has agreed to have you work on the project. Today is your first day at BeyondTech for the purposes of gathering requirements. You go into the receptionist desk to let them know that you have arrived. Ms. Nelson comes down to the lobby to me you and escort you to her office. This is the dialog that the two of you have. Ms. Nelson: Im glad that you decided to work on the project. Im going to arrange a tour of the factory for you so that you can see some of the kiosks that we currently manufacture. After your tour Im arranging for you to meet with Joseph Monot and Marie Pinewood, I figure we can knock out two birds with one stone. You: Ms. Nelson, Im glad to be working on the project. Will I have an opportunity to talk with Harry Johnson? At this very moment the phone rings and Harry Johnson walks into Ms. Nelsons office. You introduce yourself to Mr. Johnson while Ms. Nelson is on the phone. You tell him about your upcoming tour of the factory and your scheduled meeting with Joseph Monot and Marie Pinewood. Mr. Johnson: Youll get some good information on your tour, take note of names of people that you may want to have more in depth discussions with later. So, you are meeting with Joe and Marie, let me know how that goes. Boy! Those two are like oil and water, they dont see eye to eye. Watch them during your meeting. But dont let Ms. Nelson know that I told you that. Well talk later, I give you the lay of the land. Welcome aboard, youll have a good time working on this project! I have to run to a meeting, so Ill talk with you soon. Mr. Johnson leaves Ms. Nelsons office and you sit there wondering how you are going to learn all that you need to learn to document the requirements for the system. Finally, Ms. Nelson finishes her call. Ms. Nelson: We should also arrange for you to see some videos of people using one of our systems and well let you play around with one. The new system is basically going to copy the functionality of the prior generations model except it will make use of biometrics for registering people and an infrared scan to measure a users body temperature.
