Additionally, keep in mind that you're developing a research question for an argumentative paper. Take a look at the first part of this page, "Research Questions (RQs) for Argumentative Essays," for information on crafting a question that will lead you to an effective thesis statement. Next, answer the following questions as a new Google Doc and submit the link through the text submission field of Brightspace Assignment:

1. List: Jot down some ideas about potential topics you might like to pursue for your researched argument. Keep the list of questions that Zickel poses under "Brainstorming Ideas for a Research Topic" in mind as you do so. You don't have to answer these (though you can if you want to). Instead, use them to help you come up with ideas.

1. Describe the conversation: Next, take the topic idea (or two) about which you're most passionate/feel you'd want to write about and research. You can use Google for this, a different search engine, news websites, TikTok, etc. Your goal is to get a general idea about how your people view your topic(s). Provide a rough overview here: What are the issues? Who are the stakeholders (major actors; groups or individuals impacted)? What are the different perspectives on the topic? What perspective mightyoutake on the topic?
