Recitation 2: Plotting one dimensional motion. 1) A model rocket is launched straight upward from the ground with an initial speed v. It accelerates with a constant upward acceleration of a engine until its engines stop at an altitude of h. Eventually the rocket hits the ground. A) Draw a quick picture of this motion. B) Refine your picture by turning it into a height vs time (y vs t) graph. There are four important times for this rocket: time of launch, time that the engine stops, time that the rocket achieves maximum height, and time that the rocket reaches the ground.
