Instructions
Working individually or in groups of two, you are to take on the role of a manager working at a local grocer who must hire for a Cashier Position. The Cashier Job Description can be found on moodle.
Your task will be divided into 2 distinct parts. Please use subheadings to clarify the sections.
Part 1- Recruitment
Using the job description provided on Moodle, develop a job advertisement (maximum 1 page).
Your job ad should:
o Attract attention
o Develop interest
o Create a desire to apply for the job
o Instigate action
Your job ad should include:
o Position title
o Brief description of position (do not copy and paste the positions summary from the job description)
o Minimum experience and education
o Required skills and qualifications
o How to apply for the position (you can create a fictitious email or other contact info here)
As part of this section of your assignment, please include a section outlining where you plan to post your job advertisement and why you made the choice. You can include more than one place.
Part 2- Selection
You must develop a set of Interview Questions that would be appropriate to use when interviewing for this position. The interview questions must be presented in a format that includes the evaluation factor for each question (e.g. how is it rated? What type of answers are you looking for?)
o 2 behavioural questions
o 2 situational questions
Questions should always relate to the requirements of the job. Use the job description as a guide. Generic questions will not receive full marks.
You can make assumptions as you see necessary for the job requirements to build your Interview questions.
Remember to include bullet points on what type of answer you are looking for.
You should include a section on your interview form for writing down the candidates responses.
Grading
Your report will include a title page with your name, student number, assignment name and professor name.
Grading will be based on the Recruitment and Selection Assignment Rubric provided on moodle.
Formatting is based on your discretion but please use subheadings to divide your sections.
The assignment is worth 15% of your overall grade.
Supplemental research is unnecessary but should you choose to do so any resources should be appropriately referenced at the end of your submission.
Provide your own thoughts. Plagiarism from internet sources or from classmates will result in a mark of ZERO for the assignment in addition to any other repercussions under the Academic Integrity policy.
Due date: Saturday June 8th by 10:00pm EST through the moodle drop box
o Late assignments will receive a mark of ZERO
