Utilizing in-depth interviews, the research centered on the narratives and perspectives of participants, emphasizing rehabilitative and supportive programs rather than punitive approaches (Boldt, 2021 et al., 2021). By examining these personal experiences and highlighting reform initiatives, the research study seeks to illustrate the potential for significant transformation in pretrial justice and to advocate for evidence-based policies that promote reform (Fulham, 2023)
