Remember redefining the problem does not mean rearranging the words. Indeed redefinition of a problem will probably involve a metaphor or analogy that does not use any of the words in the problem as defined as above. The idea with this exercise is to bust that conceptual block that causes us to hardly consider the problem....most of us with business training have been conditioned to immediately start moving toward a solution by considering all the things that are directly related or may have caused the problem. Resist this pattern. Instead attempt the techniques offered to you in the book and post your your new definitions regardless of how silly or unrelated you think they will appear to me and your cohorts.
