Starting around 1997, there was a scientific paper published that supposedly found an association between the Measles Mumps Rubella (MMR) vaccine and the development of autism. In this paper, you should find the study and the history surrounding it, the flaws in the study, and how it was eventually retracted. This paper led to many people refusing vaccinations for themselves and/or their children, and unvaccinated people have been the source of many outbreaks of measles.
