Remote Work Policy
Purpose:
In an everchanging world, its our vision to keep up with the times and create the best atmosphere for employees to be able to successfully work, including remotely. This remote work policy is to give employees clear and accurate guidelines regarding working from home, and remote work. This policy has been put into place to prioritize flexibility, comfort, and convenience for our employees while maintaining the organizations needs and goals.
Definition of Remote Work:
Remote work enables an employee to not have to be tied to an organizations office. The employee can work from home, and if traveling, potentially from a thirdparty location. This includes hybrid arrangements, flexible work schedules, and fully remote work arrangements.
Effective Date:
This policy will go into effect on March and will remain in effect until further notice.
Expectations:
Employees who work remotely are expected to adapt and follow the same performance metrics set forth as if they were still working in the office setting. While this policy is set for convenience, flexibility, and workplace autonomy, the rules will need to be followed.
Some of the guidelines are set forth below:
Work Schedules: Employees are expected to maintain their regular work schedule while working remotely unless other arrangements have been made with their supervisor.
Hours Worked: Employees are expected to work their regular scheduled hours unless otherwise approved by their supervisor. Remote work schedules must be preapproved by the employee's supervisor.
Pay: The regular rate of pay regardless of whether you work in the office, or remotely will not change based on location.
Benefits: Employees who work fulltime, regardless of whether onsite or remotely will be eligible for benefits.
Job Status: Employees who work remotely will maintain the same job status, whether fulltime or parttime.
Job Performance: Remote employees are expected to maintain the same performance metrics as they would if they were in the office.
Remote Workspace: Employees are responsible for keeping their remote workspace appropriate to conduct all workrelated tasks.
Office Equipment: It is the responsibility of the employee to make sure all equipment is properly maintained and in sound opperational capacity.
Employee Request for Remote Work:
To request the benefit of being able to work remotely, an employee can complete the Remote Work Request Form and submit it to their supervisor for approval. Approval is based on individual circumstances, subject to the supervisor's discretion, and is based on job responsibilities, employee performance, and operational needs such as internet speed at the remote location and internet security and capabilities.
Responsibilities of Management:
Supervisors are responsible for ensuring that employees who work remotely meet the metrics and expectations outlined in this policy. This includes monitoring employee performance, ensuring adequate communication, and providing the necessary resources to facilitate remote work.
Application and Consequence:
Fairness being at the forefront of the operation, this policy will be applied consistently to all employees. Any violations of this policy can result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
