13. What are the intended goals for stakeholder identification? (5 points) Why is it important for project management? The goals for stakeholder identification are to identify all individuals and organizations who may be directly involved or indirectly involved with the project or are affected by the outcome/result. It will help determine who will have a positive impact on the project & how to keep them, ensure we can keep negative stakeholders out, and establish communication with stakeholders who don't know where they fall to inform them of the benefits of the project. They can be internal (project team), external (customers), primary (interest due to proximity to project, ie: investor), and secondary (not affected but interested). It is important to project management because we will be able to create a stakeholder management plan and manage their engagement, ensuing we are getting the most out of them (ie., feedback, communication, etc.). It will also help us Editor determine which stakeholders can influence the project, what kind of power they possess, create a stakeholder power interest matrix (helps us prioritize who's important), and develop an overall strategy/plan to manage each.
